Working Woodlands : Guy Furner

Tel: +44(0)7940 361029

Based in West Sussex, Working Woodlands offers a range of unique woodland products, hand crafted from local sustainable woodlands. He also specialises in creative landscape designs to personalise both wooded areas and gardens; creating meandering walkways, seated glades, wildlife havens and 'secret' gardens.

Oakwood Sawmill : Mark Cottrell

Tel: +44(0)1491 681097

Mark is a fourth generation of traditional besom broom makers. The besom broom has changed very little over the years, apart from being bound with wire now instead of wood or withies, and is still in great demand. As well as besom brooms Mark, who is based near Reading, makes and supplies continuous wattle fencing, conical plant supports, split chestnut lathes and garden furniture.

Dorset Coppice Crafts : Jack Beckett

Tel: +44(0)1258 881387

Jack, supported by his dedicated family and team of craftsmen, produces a wide range of quality products, mainly hazel, from the woodlands of Dorset’s beautiful Hardy country. Highly skilled at hurdle making, Jack and his team have developed a highly innovative range of woodland products for the house and garden, some of which will be on display. Dorset Coppice Crafts is always willing to undertake special commissions and work to customer’s own ideas. Jack proudly claims that "Your imagination is our only limitation".

Taylor Made : Neil Taylor

Tel: +44(0)1531 822567

An earlier training in art and his more recent training as a ‘green woodworker’ has brought together both the contemporary and the traditional into Neil Taylor’s work as a designer and maker of fine furniture and sculpture. Neil uses both green, unseasoned native woods alongside selected seasoned planking and he has developed a ‘pickling’ technique enabling him to produce a vivid array of natural colours. He also has an interest in Welsh stick furniture that he has developed during the last five years he has been in the business.

Heathfield & Spicer : Trevor Austen

Tel: +44(0)1303 814545

The Rake Workshop of Heathfield & Spicer at Smeeth, Kent, has seen the continuous production of traditional wooden rakes since it was set up in 1871. Trevor indulges his rake-making skills, using ash coppiced from sustainable woodlands to produce a strong, light responsive rake that deals comfortably with grass, leaves, soil and gravel. Trevor’s range of rakes includes traditional, garden and border with varieties including ‘Japan style’.

His wide range of other products includes garden reel and lines and chestnut lawn edging.
